If you walk through the center of Vitoria-Gasteiz you will be stepping on streets with more than 800 years of history.
The medieval town was the main nucleus where the town was founded by Sancho VI "El Sabio". In the centre, we can find a small hill that presides over the Cathedral of Santa María.
The streets of the medieval center are well delimited and take the name of the guild trades that were developed in each of them: blacksmithing, shoemaking, cutlery, painting etc.
Some of these streets also have sumptuous Renaissance palaces.
At the end of the tour, you can find the Portalón, an old medieval brick inn and the Torre de los Anda, a defensive watchtower with Gothic architecture. The latter can only be visited from the outside, as it currently houses private homes.
In addition, on your tour you can see gigantic murals on some facades of its buildings
